A scene for my two comic characters Sixty and PG running away from the Captain of the Guard.
FINAL
I do a really rough sketch first to get a general idea of my composition. This would take me less than 5 minutes because I plan on going over it again.
I do a more refined sketch next but still keep it loose. I focus a little bit more on details and making sure I have enough to use for my inking but not so detailed that it becomes plain tracing.
I set down my perspective and started inking according to focus.
After I do the characters, I focus on the background, making sure more of the details are towards the focus of the scene. I use thinner lineart for objects further away.
I normally skip this part but since it's a big scene focused on environment, I decided to set down the lighting.
I flat the colours down and trying to keep to a fantasy palette. Sixty's royal blue cloak is the main focus of the piece so I try to keep her cloak rich and vibrant compared to the other characters.
