Legends of Runeterra anniversary 2021

I was asked to do the Legends of Runeterra anniversary artwork! I tried to choose the most iconic champions and followers in the game, a hard task considering there are so many fantastic cards.

I wanted this composition to feel unique compared to the previous Summoner's Rift version so I had the idea of maybe a more classy theme party to match the aesthetics of LoR.

I tried to include a character from every region and available at the time and made a list of which characters I wanted to use.

Ultimately, we believed this to be the best thumbnail. I developed it further to change some interactions and the flow of the page.

I went a step further from the thumbnails and added in more characters. It helped a lot to add in the greyscale to separate the layers of characters.

The focus here was the cake and the popular Cithria so I made sure Lux and her stood out as the center of the piece.
